About Flexbody Car Crash

Flexbody Car Crash is a simulation game where players engage in various automotive activities centered around realistic vehicle damage. The game features a sophisticated soft-body physics engine, ensuring that every collision is unique and dynamically rendered. Instead of pre-canned animations, car bodies crumple, bend, tear, and deform in real-time based on impact forces, with details like glass shattering, parts detaching, and fluids leaking. This attention to detail extends to how a damaged car drives, reflecting the physical deformities sustained.

Realistic Damage Simulation

The game’s distinguishing feature is its real soft-body physics, which ensures no two crashes are identical. Cars are modeled as a network of nodes and beams, allowing body panels to crumple, bend, and tear dynamically upon impact. Visual effects include windows cracking and shattering, paint scraping off to expose bare metal, and components like bumpers, doors, hoods, and wheels detaching. Beyond visual cues, the physics engine also simulates functional damage; tires can pop, oil, coolant, and fuel can leak, and a hit fuel tank might even ignite. Critically, these deformations affect vehicle performance, so a car with a broken axle will pull to one side while driving.

Diverse Activities and Missions

Players can engage in over 50 missions that span various scenarios. These include Monster Jam events where players crush cars in an arena using a monster truck, Cargo missions involving hauling timber, crates, barrels, and fuel through a taiga village, and Winch Rescue tasks requiring players to pull stuck trucks from challenging terrains like swamps, rivers, and ditches. For those interested in speed, the game offers Time Attack and Duels across five circuits, alongside Drag Racing sprints over 201, 305, and 402 meters through city environments. Additionally, daily challenges provide opportunities to test skills in air time, drifts, stunts, and achieving top speeds.

Open-Ended Sandbox Play

Beyond structured missions, the game features a sandbox mode without predefined rules, allowing for free-form experimentation. Players can spawn various cars and configure their AI behavior to chase them, flee, or simply drive in traffic. Unique interactions are possible, such as placing a ramp car in front of traffic to watch vehicles launch into the air, or using a finger to directly pull and bend any car’s body. The environment also plays a role; cars can float or sink in lakes and rivers, with flooded engines stalling, and deep mud retains every rut while making trucks dirty and prone to getting stuck.

Vehicle Customization and Selection

The game includes a garage where players can personalize their vehicles. Customization options range from painting the body and rims to applying decals from eight categories, or even uploading custom images and text for decals. Performance tuning is also available, allowing adjustments to wheel size and camber, as well as selection from road, sport, off-road, or drift tire types. The game features 14 distinct vehicles, encompassing classic muscle cars, a hot hatch, a hypercar, a six-wheel dump truck, a monster truck, and an off-road buggy, which can be driven across 19 different maps including crash test pads, taiga villages, multiple cities with traffic, rally and drift tracks, a jump arena, and race circuits. Players can share their customized builds using a code or file.

Replay and Modding Capabilities

To enhance the experience of witnessing crashes, the game offers a replay and photo mode. Players can activate slow motion instantly, record up to ten minutes of gameplay, and then scrub, pause, or freely move the camera around the recorded crash. The free camera includes options for depth of field, aspect frames, and post-processing effects, and the time of day can be adjusted from sunrise to a starry night for photographic purposes. Furthermore, the game supports community-created content through an in-game mod repository, where players can access additional liveries and vehicles.

Device Performance Considerations

Given the intensive nature of soft-body physics calculations, the game requires substantial device resources. A minimum of 4 GB RAM and a Snapdragon 680 processor or equivalent is recommended for optimal performance. Users with weaker devices have the option to adjust graphics settings within the game’s menu to improve fluidity.
